ANANTAPUR: Professor R. Ramakrishna Reddy of the Department of Physics in Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) here has been selected for the ‘National Environmental Science Academy Fellowship for 2007’. The fellowships is given by the National Environmental Science Academy. The fellowship award will be presented to Prof. R. Reddy at the inaugural function of 20th national conference of the National Environmental Science Academy. The national conference is slated to be held at the Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard, in New Delhi on December 27. Prof. Reddy has contributed in the fields of spectroscopy, chemical sciences, solid state physics and environmental science after obtaining his Ph.D. from Sri Venkateswara University in 1981. He also worked on structural elucidation of diatomic molecules, bonding characteristics of materials, opto-electronic properties of materials and air space pollutant and environment. In the past, Prof. Ramakrishna Reddy was also a recipient of UGC research award-1999, State best teacher award-2005, best scientist award of the academy in 2006 among others.
