BIDAR: Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta said that a proposal has been sent to the Government seeking permission for construction of commercial complexes in the Public Works Department and Commercial Tax area near Ambedkar circle here. He said on Saturday that new plans have been drawn-up to facilitate business in the city. A list of eligible persons will be announced in two-weeks time for allocation of shops at IDSMT complex at Mohan market area. Allotments would be made to about 100 shopkeepers at the complex. About 20 flower-sellers have been shifted to IDMST complex, he said. Mr. Gupta said that a meeting was convened on Sunday at Bidar Urban Development Authority in order to assist 60 businessmen who had lost everything during the demolition drive. Shops would be provided to the eligible shopkeepers at concessional rates according to their requirements, at service stand complex, stadium complex, Janawada road and Siddatalim, he said. A project has been prepared to make alternative arrangements for the businessmen affected during the demolition drive, he said. Certain steps have been taken in this regard such as measures to provide loans to affected businessmen under Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) and also allocation of shops. As many as 36 persons have been assisted with loans under PMRY to start their business at Autonagar here. Forty more applications have been received for availing loans under PMRY and interviews will be held on Tuesday, Mr. Gupta said. Financial assistance would be provided under PMRY and Swavalambi scheme for those affected during the drive, he said.
