Musicians felicitated

BELLARY: The “Havyasi Kalavidara Sangha” organised a “rasamanjari”

programme at the Raghava Kalamandir here on Saturday, and felicitated five musicians for their contribution.

Sundar (tabla), Mastan (owner of Pratibha orchestra), Eshwar (guitar), Dharmaraj (keyboard) and N.S. Srinivas (singer), were felicitated, followed by an orchestra performance, in which old Kannada film songs were rendered.

The sangha, which will extend financial assistance to artistes every year, honoured Kalidas, a mimicry artiste, on the occasion. Subhadramma Mansur, stage artiste and vocalist; Nishti Rudrappa, president of the Bellary Kannada Sahitya Parishat; Chornur Kotrappa, Assistant Director of the Kannada and Culture Department; K. Chennappa, president of the Raghava Memorial Association; Basanna, president of the Bellary District Chamber of Commerce; and Suresh Shetty, president of the sangha, were present.
