Site identified for engineering college

Place on highway is ideal for daily commuting
VIRUDHUNAGAR: The district administration has identified 25 acres of land in Chinnakamanpatti in Sattur taluk for constructing Government Engineering College in the district.
The Collector, V. Chandrasekaran, who inspected the site on Sunday, said that 12 acres of Government poromboke land along with 13 acres of private land would be an ideal site for the college.
The site on the Sattur-Sivakasi highway was ideal for daily commuting for students and had good water resources, the Collector said.
Directing the Tahsildar to acquire the private land and to make necessary landscaping works, the Collector said that he would send a proposal to the State Government for making use of the land for the proposed college.
The Sattur Tahsildar, Muniyasamy, the Block Development officer, Murugesan and the Chinnakamanpatti Panchayat President, Adhimoolam, were present.
