MANGALORE: A host of cultural programmes have been organised as part of the inauguration of the week-long ‘Sautramani Gavamayana Yaga’ at Pavanje, Hosangadi, near here on Sunday. The yaga is said to be have been performed by Valmiki. The yaga is being held at Sri Jnanashakthi Subrahmanyaswamy Temple in Pavanje. Sunday’s programmes included a flute recital by up-and-coming artiste Master Pavan Krishna Kumar. It was followed by presentation of dance drama “Bhasmasura Mohini Vijayan and Rasaleela.” Film actor Sridhar presented Bharatanatya followed by Yakshagana performance “Pramilarjuna” by the Katipalla Mahaganapathi Mahila Mandala. On Sunday, the yaga was inaugurated by Sandhya Pai, Executive Editor of Taranga weekly. Kumble Sundara Prabhu, State president of Sanskara Bharati of Bangalore, spoke on “Yagna, yaga and sanatana dharma.” Cultural programmes have been organised on all days of the programme.
