Thiruvananthapuram: The Energy Management Centre (EMC) has announced its 11th State Energy Conservation Awards. Hindustan Newsprint Limited, Kottayam, won the award in the category of large-scale enterprises in appreciation of their reduction in specific electricity consumption. NTPC Limited, Alappuzha; MRF Limited, Kottayam; Appollo Tyres Limited, Thrissur and Le Meridien Resorts and Convention Centre, Kochi, shared the commendation certificate in the same category. The commendation certificate in the category of middle-level industrial enterprises was shared by Hindustan Latex Limited, Aakkulam and Milma Dairy, Kannur. Ammini Energy Systems won the commendation certificate in the small-scale industries’ category for its research and development (R&D) activities and popularisation of solar power plants. In the category of non-profit organisations, Biotech won the award for its installation of family-size and institutional biogas plants.
