dated December 10, 1957: D.K. & D.M.K.

Mr. E.V. Ramaswami Naicker, Leader of the Dravida Kazhagam, hinted on December 8 in Thanjavur at the possibility of the merger of his organisation with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the not distant future. “There is no quarrel between us and there exists no impediment in the way of this consummation. Where is the Dravida Kazhagam after my life-time? Hence those interested in the merger of the two Kazhagams may strive towards that end,” he said. Mr. Ramaswami Naicker, in his speech vehemently criticised Mr. Nehru for his remarks about the Dravida Kazhagam’s Constitution-burning campaign.
