PFC beats SAAP Academy

VIJAYAWADA: Guntur’s Peracherla Football Club defeated Medak’s SAAP Football Academy 4-1 in final of the invitational seven-a-side football tournament here on Sunday. Rajesh scored a brace, while Nagabau and Durgaiah netted a goal each for the Guntur outfit.

The results: (final): Peracharla FC bt SAAP Football Academy 4 (Rajesh 2, Nagababu 1, Durgaiah1) bt SAAP Football Academy 1 (Kumar); Semifinals: Peracherla FC bt VFA ‘A’ 5-4, SAAP Football Academy bt SCR 3-2.

Vamsi shines

Unbeaten 58 by Vamsi helped South ‘B’ clinch the crucial first innings lead against South ‘A’ in the final of the ACA under-13 inter-zonal cricket tournament for D. Venkateswara Rao – D. Haranadha Baba memorial trophy at Guntur on Sunday.

The scores: South ‘A’ 114 in 55 overs (Adbul Haq three for 11) vs. South ‘B’ 123 for three in 44 overs (Vamsi 58 batting).

CAN, Vasu post wins

Cricket Association of Nuzvid (CAN) scored a narrow six-run victory over AP Transco, while Vasu XI defeated Sarada College by 207 runs in the KDCA ‘B’ division league tournament for Devineni Venkataramana-Praneetha Memorial Trophy here on Sunday.

The scores:

CAN (Nuzvid) 139 for three in 25 overs (Srinu 59 n.o.) bt AP Transco 133 for nine in 25 overs (Ayyappa three for 25).

Vasu XI 280 for nine in 40 overs (Nagaraju 80, Srinu thee for 46) bt Sarada College 73 in 11 .4 overs (Vasu five for 22, Lakshman three for 31). — Sports Reporter
