BAC bags overall title

Aaron D’Souza wins boys’ Group I title with 142 points
Aaron finishes with a tally of six gold

BANGALORE: Host Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre bagged the overall title with 1,348 points in the State short-course swimming championship which concluded at the BAC pool here on Sunday.

Aaron D’Souza, the 15-year old international from BAC, won the boys’ Group I title with 142 points. Aaron, who set two new meet marks, finished with a tally of six gold, winning two on the final day.

The other individual champions: Boys: Group II: Akash Rohit (KCR); Group III: L. Shreyas (BAC); Group IV: Vishwas Anil (KCR). Girls: Group I: Madhavi Giri (BAC); Group II: B. Nischala (BAC); Group III: Bhoomi R. Motwani (BAC); Group IV: S. Prajwala (KCR).

The results (winners only): Boys: Group I: 25m freestyle: Aaron D’Souza (BAC), 12.0s; 50m freestyle: Aashith Kamath (BAC), 27.99; 50m backstroke: N.A. Sandeep (BAC), 28.39; 200m IM: Aaron D’Souza, 2:19.01; 4x50m freestyle relay: BAC ‘A’.

Group II: 25m freestyle: Nithin Prabahakr (KCR), 13.52; 50m breaststroke: Akash Rohit (KCR), 35.16; 50m butterfly: Dhritiman Roy (BAC), 30.58; 200m breaststroke: Akash Rohit, 2:47.55; 4x50m freestyle relay: BAC ‘A’, 1:53.82.
