Bhubaneswar: The Al Chan Tour Inc, a South Korean hospitality group, has expressed interest in setting up hotels in Paradip and Bhubaneswar in Orissa. Ki Know Na, President of the group, yesterday met Orissa’s Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and senior officials at the Chief Minister’s office to convey their interest for setting up hotels in the State, official sources said.. The hospitality group, based in Seoul and having presence in Thailand and Philippines as well, have plans to invest 10 million dollars in Indian projects, sources said. “We want to set up hotels here as the POSCO project is coming up near Paradip,” Na told reporters here, adding that a large number of South Koreans would be interested in visiting Orissa due to the POSCO project and captivated by State’s rich cultural heritage. He said the group would like to buy land at a good location. To another query, Na said the group had no tie-up plans with any Indian business or hotel group. When contacted, the minister told PTI that the State Government would support the project, but the group has yet to submit its proposal. - PTI
