SP’s pat for Home Guards

THANJAVUR: Home Guards have been doing a good job, especially in assisting the police during emergencies, said Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Singh here on Saturday.

Participating in Home Guards Day celebration, he said the organisation offered its services during temple festivals and for bandobust arrangements. There was a team to deal with natural calamities. It rendered its services during floods caused by the north-east monsoon. The Home Guards also visited schools and gave first aid training to students.

Mr. Singh called upon the outfit to help police in traffic regulation. He distributed prizes and certificates to Home Guards for meritorious service.

K.N. Muthukumarasamy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Armed Reserve, and K. Rajamanickam, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DCRB, offered their felicitations.
