Training programme for Muslim youth

CHENNAI: The State unit of the Indian Union Muslim League here organised a training programme on Saturday to inculcate spirit of national unity, communal and cultural amity among Muslim youth.
Over 300 youths from all over the State participated in the two-day training programme, which ended on Sunday, according to State president K.M. Khader Mohideen. The programme was to explain the danger of extremism and terrorism and prevent the youth from going astray.
Mr. Khader Mohideen told newsmen that the League always worked for improving the livelihood of the poor and the downtrodden irrespective of the community.
Thanking the Chief Minister for providing reservation to minority communities in employment and education, Mr. Khader Mohideen said the party would organise a function in Vellore in March next to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the party. It planned to invite Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi for the function.
The State executive of the party, which met here on Friday, adopted a resolution urging the Centre to implement the Justice Ranganath Misra Commission recommendations on providing reservation for Muslim community in employment and education.
