TDP president promises to take the matter to the notice of the Director General of Police
ADILABAD: The police bandobust during Leader of Opposition and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Bellampalli and other places on Sunday as part of the Sankshema Bata left much to be desired.
In an unpleasant incident Bellampalli CI Janardhan Reddy and constables manhandled reporters when they sought to enter the Social Welfare girls hostel in town to cover the event.
After almost the entire press corps had entered the building trailing Mr. Naidu, the CI inexplicably prevented two scribes P. Srinivas and Karim from entering the place and even pushed them. Constables in the vicinity not only pulled Mr. Karim by the scruff of the neck but trampled on him as he fell down. This enraged the journalists and as they protested the TDP president came out and promised to take the matter to the notice of the Director General of Police.
