Parekh takes title

HYDERABAD: S. Parekh of Maharashtra won the 65 years & above singles title defeating T. Sreedhar (AP) 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-3 in the final of the 12th GVK_AISTA seniors (veterans) national tennis tournament here on Sunday.

The results: 45 years & above: S. Narendranath (AP) bt V. Shankar (Del) 6-1, 6-1. Doubles: C.M. Sethu (TN) / Ranganath (Kar) bt R.V.R. Raju / G.V.K. Raju (AP) 6-3, 6-4; 55 years & above: V. Rammohan Rao (AP) bt Arvind Chatwal (Del) 6-3, 4-6, 6-3; 65 years & above: S. Parekh (Mah) bt T. Sreedhar (AP) 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-3.

Zama nets winner

Osmania University XI scored a solitary goal win over Valluvar Nagar in the Susai memorial football tournament at on Sunday. Lilan Zama was the scorer.

S. Vikramjit Singh emerged winner in the seniors’ category by virtue of better progressive scores in the Brilliant Trophy State Open chess tournament.
