Residents to observe fast

NAMAKKAL: Residents of various village panchayats in Mohanur block opposed the establishment of a private paper mill in Madagasampatti panchayat.
Resolution
They passed a resolution in this regard at a consultation meeting held in Tholur village near here recently, a press release from Panchayat Union member K. Chandramohan said.
Residents condemned the district administration and the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board for giving permission to establish the mill.
They claimed that the establishment of the mill would pollute the ground water and soil.
They decided to observe a fast in Chennai seeking the Chief Minister’s intervention.
A large number of farmers from Madagasampatti, K. Puthupalayam, Peramandampalayam, S. Vazhavanthi, Manapalli, Tholur, Aniyapuram, Keelsathapur and Kalipalayam attended the meeting.
