Ration rice seized

Several bags of rice meant for public distribution system were seized from a private rice mill near Iravadhanallur in the district on Monday. According to an official release, a team led by Madurai (South) Tahsildar, K. Kombayan, conducted a surprise raid on the mill. Two lorries containing 500 bags of rice and two bags of sugar were found. A lorry driver, P. Thangasamy and cleaner N. Karthi were apprehended.
