Police flouted court order, says naxal’s advocate

ONGOLE: Advocate of Maoist leader N. Panduranga Reddy alias Sagar alias Pratap has filed a petition in Markapur court seeking action against Yerragondapalem Circle Inspector for allegedly violating court orders in interrogating the arrested leader.
The lawyer, in his petition, stated that police had arrested Sagar on Wednesday and the court sent him to Kadapa Central Jail on 15 days remand. The court has permitted the police to interrogate Sagar in the jail, in the presence of his advocates and prison officials.
but the policehad taken him away to Podili and Nallamala forest and interrogated him in the absence of his advocates.He contended that it was in violation of court orders.
Meanwhile, police produced Sagar`s wife, Madhavi alias Mary, who was arrested by Chennai police earlier, in the Giddalur court. The court remanded her in judicial custody in 15 days.
Both Sagar and his wife were shifted to Kadapa jail on Monday.
