Last-ditch bid: Congress
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: Reacting to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s decision to name L.K. Advani its prime ministerial candidate, the Congress on Monday this was a “last-ditch attempt” to send a signal to Gujarat voters, as he is an MP from Gandhinagar. “But it will be of no use. [Gujarat Chief Minister] Narendra Modi is on his way out and this stand may change after the Gujarat Assembly elections,” Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told The Hindu here.
Will get majority
The Lok Sabha elections would be held in 2009 and “we will get a majority,” he said.
