2 earth mounds create flutter in Nandigram

KOLKATA: The discovery of two mounds of earth resembling graves in the Maheshpur area of Nandigram created a flutter on Monday, only a few days after charred bones were dug up from five graves in the adjoining Khejuri area.

The CRPF authorities were informed by local villagers about the mounds of earth and the area had been cordoned off till the earth was removed in the presence of a judicial magistrate, a senior police official said.

The bones that had been dug up from Khejuri have been sent for forensic and DNA tests.

The State government has also ordered an inquiry by the CID. A CID team visited the Khejuri area on Sunday.
