Correspondent
MAHABUBNAGAR: The south zone Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission K.C. Kalappa has urged bankers to extend their full co-operation in the launching of Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (REGP). He was participating as chief guest at the bankers’ review meeting on the programme in Mahabubnagar on Tuesday.
Mr. Kalappa said that the REGP was very useful in drought-prone districts like Mahabubnagar.
He said that under the REGP, the KVIC would release margin money. It was giving margin money to SHGs besides giving training in various fields to unemployed rural youth.
State Director of KVIC Prabhakar Rao explained the schemes being implementing under REGP through the KVIC.
District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Project Director A.V. Narasimha Reddy urged the bankers to see that the units were set up by March.
