Tiny bank accounts for pensioners
Staff Reporter
Sangareddy: After experimenting with the tiny banking concept with self-help groups, the Medak administration and the lead bank (State Bank of India) have taken up linking of pension disbursement through tiny accounts.
The process of digitising the data of all categories of pensioners, like the old and disabled, began at the municipal office last Monday and the process will continue for another week. Service provider Zero Mass, which has simplified the rural banking with the introduction of cell-operated ATM and a tiny printer, has been entrusted with the work and the digitisation of data for the municipal area.
Pensioners have to submit six fingerprints for biometric recognition system and bring their ration card for verification.
