New zoos in U.P. soon

Lucknow: A proposal to set up three new zoos at Gorakhpur, Agra and Moradabad has been sent to the Central Zoo Authority, Uttar Pradesh Minister Fateh Bahadur Singh has said. Forest officials had been told to pursue the matter vigorously said Mr. Singh, who reviewed functioning of his Forest Department.

He asked officials to organise workshops in areas close to national parks and wildlife sanctuaries to create awareness among locals about the wildlife. The Minister of State for Forests suggested setting up of control rooms for protecting wildlife.
