No fresh consumers would be allowed to join the scheme now. Simultaneously, the date of availing the benefit of payment of electricity bills without surcharge for urban domestic consumers has also been extended up to December 31. The consumers have been given the option to pay the bills without surcharge in one go or in six equal monthly instalments. The scheme shall be available to those consumers also who withdraw their court cases up to December 30. Meanwhile, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has completed the erection of High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) in 71 villages and Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) in six villages under its revenue protection project to be completed during the current financial year. The spokesman disclosed that the Nigam was laying distribution system of international standard in villages under this prestigious project. It had selected 2,001 villages for HVDS and 1,119 villages for LVDS in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat, Gurgaon and Faridabad districts. He added that all meters would be shifted from the consumers’ houses to the boundary walls/poles outside.
