Varsity gets new Vice-Chancellor

M. Ramanathan
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Governor has appointed Prof. M. Ramanathan, Professor of Surgery, as the Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University for a period of three years from January 29, 2008.
Dr. Ramanathan (57) is a general and laparoscopic surgeon with an M.S. in general surgery. He started his career as medical officer in Annamalai University Hospital and was closely involved in the development of Rajah Muthiah Medical College of Annamalai University.
Work in backward areas
He had worked for the improvement of health among poor people living in the backward areas of Cuddalore district.
