SHIMLA: The three-member Election Commission team is arriving on a two-day visit to Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday to review the arrangements for the second phase of elections on December 19. Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy and two members Naveen Chawala and S Y Qureshi would hold discussions with the State Election Commission, observers, Director General of Police, District Magistrates and political parties during their stay here, State’s Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda said here on Tuesday. The second phase of polling for 65 Assembly constituencies would be held on December 19, while polling for the three tribal seats of Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti and Bharmaur in Chamba district was held on November 14. Ms Nanda said the Commission besides holding discussions with the six main political parties would hold a review meeting with the observers and other State officials. Assuring that prompt action had been taken on all the major complaints received by the State Election Commission, she said it had also forwarded the compliance report to the poll panel. In all, she said, it had received 366 complaints about violations of the model code of conduct during the campaigning in the State. Of the 65 constituencies going to the polls, a polling station in Rajnagar constituency in Chamba district was situated at a height of 12,000 feet, while Nalti polling station in Hamirpur constituency was situated at a height of 7,000 feet.
