Lok Satta plans help centres
HYDERABAD: Lok Satta, the civil society movement for governance reforms, has decided to set up help centres to educate people about the functioning of the Government offices.
The help centres would provide information relating to the procedures that should be followed for grievance redressal to people who approach them. The move was aimed at checking some “corrupt” people who were exploiting gullible people unaware of the procedural aspects.
Stating this in a press release here on Tuesday, Lok Satta State coordinator M. Padmanabh Reddy said decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened on December 9 to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day.
The movement would forthwith concentrate on bringing awareness among the people in rural areas, women in particular, to fight against corruption.
It was decided to work for inclusion of topics against corruption in the school curriculum so that children would be educated from the primary level.
