Woman worker dies at construction site

CHENNAI: A 50-year-old woman worker at a construction site in R.A. Puram died on the spot on Sunday after a few stones fell on her. Police said that the stones fell on the victim, Mahali, resulting in head injuries to which she succumbed on the spot. The stones fell on her when building materials were being carried to different floors. A large number of workers from Orissa and Bihar are working on the site where a multi-storeyed building is coming up.
Police have arrested four persons, including the site supervisor and engineer.
House burgled
Unidentified miscreants escaped with gold jewellery weighing about 20 sovereigns from a locked house in Kalaimagal Nagar, Ekkattuthangal, recently.
