Stray incidents of violence in Kasaragod

KASARAGOD: Isolated incidents of violence continued to occur at Palakkunnu in the district on Tuesday also where several houses came under attacked in clashes between workers of the CPI(M) and the IUML on Monday.
A mob set on fire a motor bike of a CPI (M) worker, Vijayan, who resides at Kappanakkal in Pallikkunnu on Tuesday. The bike was parked in front of his house. A bus coming from Kanhangad to Palakkunnu was stoned at Kottikkulam. The cleaner of the bus suffered minor injuries in the attack.
The police registered seven cases in connection with the violent incidents in Palakkunnu, Kottikkulam and nearby areas. The cases were filed against workers of both the CPI (M) and the IUML. A strong posse of police was deployed in the area. Meanwhile, the Kottikkulam Jamaat demanded strict action against those who attacked its institutions.
