Student dies of injury ‘inflicted’ by teacher

Jehanabad: A five-year-old girl died of a head injury suffered seven months ago when her teacher allegedly hit her with a duster as punishment.

Madhu Kumar died on Monday night at the Sadar hospital here after prolonged treatment.

Her father lodged a complaint on Tuesday against the teacher. said that Madhu was brought back home last week as doctors had said there was little hope of her recovery.

Investigation into the case was on, police said. — PTI
