PMRY aid for 900 youths

PUDUKOTTAI: Financial assistance and subsidy under the Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) will be provided to 900 youths for self-employment in the district during the current year.

A press release of Collector D. Uthirakkumaran issued here on Tuesday said the government has introduced a few new norms for the sanctioning of loans. As per the new norms, a maximum loan of Rs. 5 lakh will be provided for setting up industrial units and Rs. 2 lakh for setting up business units. The subsidy component will be Rs. 12,500 in each case.

Loans will be sanctioned to the people in the age group of 18-35 years. The upper age limit is 45 years for SC and STs, ex-servicemen, physically handicapped and women. The beneficiaries should have passed class VIII and the annual combined income of the family should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.
