THANKING THE CHIEF MINISTER: Malayasian Tamil writers with Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the Secretariat in Chennai on Tuesday.

CHENNAI: A delegation of Tamil writers from Malaysia called on Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.

P. Rajendran, leader of the Malaysian writers’ group, said the group thanked the Chief Minister for the arrangements made during their two-week-long trip.

The trip was planned about a year ago and had nothing to do with the recent events concerning the Malaysian citizens of Indian origin. They could be resolved through negotiations, he said.

He also requested the Chief Minister to take steps to popularise the literary works of Malaysian Tamil writers.
