CPI (M) demo today

PUDUCHERRY: Activists of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will stage protest demonstrations at Lawspet, Tirubhuvanai, Villianur, Bahour and Tirunallar to highlight demands related to utilisation of funds for the special component plan (SCP) in the Union Territory.

State committee member of the CPI (M) T. Murugan will lead the demonstration near the Kamaraj statue in the town on Wednesday.

In a statement here, secretary of the Puducherry unit of the CPI (M) V. Perumal said the party would demand allocation of funds for the SCP on the basis of the population of Dalits in the Union Territory.
