Capturing dance forms on calendar

Meera Srinivasan

Chennai: Nightingale products, a brand of Srinivas Fine Art Private Limited, has come out with calendars featuring different classical forms of dance in the country.

Titled ‘Dances of India 2008’, the calendar has styles such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi, Manipuri, Kathak and Mohini Attam beautifully portrayed by noted artist Manian Selvan.

Both table top and wall calendars are available.

Themes

The interesting use of colours on black make each month visually appealing. Mr. Selvan and artist S.Rajam have also illustrated themes such as Sivapuranam, Bhagavad Gita, Kailash, Kandapuranam, Lord Siva and Eternal India.

Each leaf has the dates of two months and a note on the dance form illustrated on the page.
