Indian team to be picked today

Bangalore: The Indian squad for the four-Test series in Australia will be picked at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Wednesday.

The meeting will be headed by the chairman of the selection panel Dilip Vengsarkar. The team is expected to be announced during late afternoon.

The squad, as per the earlier announcement, comprises 16 members. However, there could be a request from the selectors for the inclusion of a 17th member because of fitness concerns.

The first Test begins in Melbourne on December 26. — Special Correspondent
