Safe drinking water by 2009

Sangareddy: Minister for protected drinking water Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao announced that fluoride-less drinking water would be made available across the State by March of 2009.

Speaking to reporters at Medak, he said the State has set aside Rs. 5,155 crore for safe drinking water and Rs. 3,700 crore has been spent for expansion of existing water schemes. Rs. 100 crore has been already sanctioned. Another Rs. 85 crore is to be released for Manjira drinking water scheme completion.
