Belgaum: The Deputy Commissioner has warned parents, religious and other social organisations against arranging or facilitating child marriages either independently or at mass marriage functions. According to a release here on Wednesday, he has asked the organisers of mass marriages to obtain proof of age of prospective couples prior to solemnising their wedding. Otherwise, action would be taken as per the provisions of Child Marriage Act, 1929. Also, the Supreme Court has advised getting marriages registered. — Staff Correspondent
