CBI team investigates death of FCI official
Guwahati: A two-member CBI team has started investigations into the death of senior FCI official P. C. Ram in a shootout between ULFA militants and the police in Assam in July. The team, led by investigating officer B. S. Chauhan, arrived here on Tuesday and visited the spot of the gunfight, Borka Panitema in Kamrup district, and the house of Gobinda Deka, where Ram was held by militants before he was killed on July 11, official sources said.
The team also visited the spot here from where Ram was on April 17 and collected relevant documents from the CID office which was investigating the case before the State handed over the case to the CBI. — PTI
