Act fast on Telangana: CPI
HYDERABAD: The CPI State council has expressed displeasure over the inordinate delay by the Central government in constituting an expert committee to study the demand for separate statehood for Telangana.
The CPI believes that a strong sentiment for a separate state was prevailing in the region and it was not proper on part of the Centre to “dilly-dally” the issue.
“The issue needs a political solution and the Centre should act fast on it,” CPI State secretary K. Narayana has said.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Dr. Narayana said the party was optimistic about formation of an alternative to the Telugu Desam and the Congress parties in the State.
