CPI(M) activists attack journalists

MALAPPURAM: Activists belonging to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) attacked journalists covering the party district conference here on Wednesday. The activists barged into Malappuram Press Club and roughed up the journalists minutes before CPI(M) officials, including T.K. Hamza, MP, were to brief the media. The CPI(M) activists were provoked by the live coverage of the electronic media, which according to the party leaders, was speculative and far from true. — Staff Reporter
