More Sabarimala special trains

Thiruvananthapuram: Railways will run additional Sabarimala special trains in the Hyderbad-Kottayam-Hyderabad, Nizamabad/ Secunderabad- Kottayam- Nizamabad/ Secunderabad, Machilipatnam-Kottayam - Machilipatnam and Vijayawada-Kottayam-Vijayawada stretches between December 17 and January 16 to clear rush of pilgrims.

Advance reservation for the special trains began on Wednesday, a Southern Railway release here said.

Hyderabad-Kottayam

The 0766A Hyderabad-Kottayam Special will leave Hyderabad at 1 p.m. on January 1, 4 and 15 to arrive at Kottayam at 7.15 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 0765A Kottayam-Hyderabad Special will leave Kottayam at 9.15 p.m. on January 2, 5 and 16 to reach Hyderabad at 4 a.m.

The trains will have one AC 3-Tier, 10 Sleeper Class, two General Second Class and two Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. Both the trains will stop at Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal, Dornakal, Khammam, Vijayawada, New Guntur, Tenali, Nidubolu, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Sri Kalhasti, Renigunta, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam Town railway stations.

Nizamabad-Kottayam

The 0766B Nizamabad/ Secunderabad- Kottayam Special will leave Nizamabad at 8.30 a.m. on December 17, 28 and January 8 to reach Kottayam at 7.15 p.m. the next day. The 0765B Kottayam-Nizamabad /Secunderabad Special, in the return direction, will leave Kottayam at 9.15 p.m. on December 18, 29, and January 9 to arrive at Nizamabad 8 a.m.

The train will have one AC 3-Tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 2 General Second Class and two Luggage-cum-Brake van coaches. In addition to the stops to the 766A and 765A special trains, the 766A and 766B will stop at Kamareddi, Medchal and Balarum railway stations.

Machilipatnam

The 0730A Machilipatnam-Kottayam Special will leave Machilipatnam at 4 p.m. on December 24 and January 7 to reach Kottayam at 7.15 p.m. the next day. In the return, the 0729A Kottayam-Machilipatnam Special will leave Kottayam at 9.15 p.m. on December 25 and January 8 to arrive at Machilipatnam at 11.30 p.m. the next day.

The train will have one AC 3-Tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 2 General Second Class and two Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The train will stop at Chilakalapudi, Padana, Kavutaram, Gudlavalleru, Gudivada, Tarigopulla, Vijayawada, New Guntur, Tenali, Nidubolu, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Sri Kalhashti, Renigunta, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam Town railway stations.

Vijayawada-Kottayam

The 0730 Vijaywada-Kottayam Special will leave Vijayawada at 7.10 p.m. on December 31, January 11 and 14 to arrive at Kottayam at 7.15 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 0729 Kottayam-Vijayawada Special will leave Kottayam at 9.15 p.m. on January 1, 12 and 15 to reach Vijaywada at 8.35 p.m. the next day.
