Lucknow: With incidents of fake passports issued in Uttar Pradesh on the rise, the State police have decided to re-verify all passports issued in the past 10 years. “Police were getting information that several passports issued from the State had been procured on basis of forged documents and wrong information by anti-social elements. To prevent the practice we have decided to conduct police verification of all passports made in past 10 years,” ADGP (Law and Order) Brijlal told PTI. “During verification, if information is found to be incorrect, passports will be cancelled but if it is found that distorted facts have been given, legal action will be taken.”
