Reshi beats Devith

Bangalore: Reshi Dabre defeated Devith 7-3 in a boys’ under-18 pre-quarterfinal match of the Mahila Seva Samaja State ranking tennis tournament here on Wednesday.

The results (pre-quarterfinals): Boys, under-18: Reshi Dabre bt Devith 7-3, A. Kashyap bt Siddharth Dabre 7-4, Rohan Goanker bt N.R. Sankith 7-0, S. Raghavendra bt Anirudh Puranic 7-2, Pranav Bhat bt N. Sandesh 7-1, K. Mirajker bt K.D. Reddy 7-1, S. Sujith bt K.J. Karthick 7-1.

Girls, under-18: Rachita Sarda bt C.M. Tarini 7-1, Surya Suresh bt Smitha Mohan 7-2, Preeti Ujayini bt Ramya Nagesh 7-2, Preeti Gokhale bt Sasha 7-0, Pooja Patil bt Nithya Kumar 7-5, Akansha Kohli bt Tejeswani 7-1.

Cash awards

The Government of Karnataka will present cash awards to winners of gold medals in various National and International events. The function will be held at Yavanika Auditorium on Thursday.

Postal beats BEL

Postal defeated Bharat Electronics Limited 2-1 in the State ‘A’ division league hockey tournament on Wednesday. Jijed (13th & 42nd) scored for Postal and Renuka Prasad (58th) reduced the margin for BEL.

Ashoka blanks Dynamics FC

At Mysore, Ashoka FC, with goals from left-in Pramod (22nd), centre-forward Praveen (35th) and right-extreme Madhusudhan (52nd), registered a 3-0 win over Dynamics FC in the ‘B’ division football league at the University football grounds on Wednesday.
