Noorjahan creates new meet record

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Christian College’s Sk. Noorjahan Begum created a new meet record in the hammer throw event of the 31st Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate athletic meet on Wednesday.

Ricky hits century

Ricky Boy (103) helped Guntur District Cricket Association register 265 in 78 overs in the three-day selection match for ACA u-13 team against ACA XI at Guntur on Wednesday.

The scores: GDCA 265 in 78 overs (Rocky Boy 103, Tejeswi 41, V Mahesh three for 56, S. M. Raju three for 69) vs. ACA 59 for no loss in 18 overs.

VS, MN post wins

VS XI defeated Ramesh XI by 164 runs, while MN XI register a 43-run win over PVPSIT in the KDCA ‘B’ division league tournament for Devineni Venkataramana- Praneetha Memorial Trophy here on Wednesday.

The scores: VS XI 197 in 35.5 overs (Sarma 43, Frinkly four for 39) bt Ramesh XI 33 in 15 overs (Ragni five for 22).

MN XI 150 in 28.1 overs (Saran three for 34, Kiran three for 50) bt PVPSIT 107 in 24.5 overs (Ibrahim three for 30).

State team

Vijayawada gymnasts K.V. Suresh D. Nagamallesh, V. Sri Soumya, V. Sri Lalitha, A.L.S. Anuhya, A. Hari Sai Kiran, B. Avinash and Ch. Tejadeep are selected for AP State team to participate in the 53rd National schools gymnastics championship to be held at Agra from December 24 to 29.
