BANGALORE: Things learnt in class came alive at Srishti 2007, the annual exhibition of St. Ann’s, Venus and Venkat Group of Institutions organised recently. The items showcased a variety of displays encompassing pure, applied and social science. Students themselves took on the responsibility of lucidly explaining the working of their models and also confidently answering supplementary questions on them. Some of the exhibits belied the tender age group to which their makers belonged. Right through there was a large throng of people on the premises. Due to paucity of time — this being the second final term of the academic year — the request for extending the exhibition was declined. The authorities promised all that in future this aspect would be given due consideration. What set the exhibition apart was that starting from tiny tots, children from all ages and classes enthusiastically took part in it. The show covered all the five floors of the St. Ann’s High School building. RYLA programmeRotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) conducted a personality development programme for members of the Interact Club of various schools at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Nagarjuna Vidyaniketan, Yelahanka, recently. It was an informative as well as educative programme for children of different age groups. Principal Shobha Bhat, District Interact coordinator Lochana, Yelahanka Rotary Club president Vanitha and founder director of Mpower Super Brain Murali Krishna were present. NCC DayThe junior wing of the NCC unit of Baldwin Girls’ High School celebrated their second NCC Day recently. Col. J.C. Mehendiratta, Group Commander, Bangalore ‘B’ Group, was the chief guest. Principal Indira Williams and associate NCC Officer Umera Parveen were present. The Hindu NIE team
