THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police on Wednesday sent two KSEB officials for medical examination to ascertain whether they were under the influence of alcohol. Sub-Inspector M. Hussain said the KSEB Vigilance wing had sought the medical examination after a consumer, H. Sajad Saheer, complained that the officials had assaulted him in a “drunken” state. The KSEB had disconnected his connection on Tuesday on the charge of not paying his bill. He remitted the bill at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. He went to the KSEB office at 2.30 p.m. to complain that power had not been restored. He said the officials, “who were playing cards in a drunken state,” assaulted him. P. Visakh, assistant engineer, KSEB Cantonment section, said Mr. Saheer’s accusations were false.
