Six new high capacity bus corridors approved
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Expenditure Finance Committee of the Delhi Government has given its nod for commissioning of six more High Capacity Bus System (HCBS) routes having a combined route length of 107 km for which Rs.1,819 crore would be released. The decision was taken in an EFC meeting presided over by Finance Minister A.K.Walia and attended among others by Transport Minister Haroon Yusuf.
Following the meeting, Dr. Walia said the six new routes would be commissioned across Delhi and would provide the general public with a fast mode of public transport. “The CNG-run HCBS system would go a long way in curbing pollution and encourage private vehicle owners to leave their personal vehicles behind and travel by a modern, convenient and dependable public transport system instead,” he said.
