College journal released

The Biochemistry Department of D.G. Vaishnav College launched its journal ‘Jivarasayan’ on Friday. The issue to be published annually will feature research articles, reviews and updates in the field of life sciences with a focus on biochemistry. The first issue has an article on a new study that suggests that vitamin B1 deficiency is key to vascular problems in people with diabetes. Other subjects discussed include pharmacogenomics, neutraceuticals and substantiating the biochemical as a key factor in Alzhiemer’s disease.
