Perfect twosome: Aamir Khan with Darsheel Safary NEW DELHI: While some Bollywood actors have been hosting popular shows on the small screen, superstar Aamir Khan has so far shied away from it. Now Aamir is set to host the fourth edition of a popular children’s awards show on Pogo channel on December 29. Darsheel Safary, Aamir’s young co-actor from his forthcoming kids’ movie “Taare Zameen Par”, will co-host the “Pogo Amazing Kids’ Awards-2007”. In the film, producer-cum-director Aamir is in the main lead, playing teacher to a dyslexic child portrayed by Darsheel. Asked about his association with Pogo, Aamir said children have always been a source of inspiration and strength to him. “I believe that there is a star in every kid, and a platform to boost their confidence levels and express their hidden talents is very important.” The awards are in multiple categories within two main sections, namely -- Pogo Kids Awards that rewards children who accomplish extraordinary talent and Pogo Voice Awards that empowers kids with the right of choosing their favourite icons. This year, 24 talented kids will battle it out for the coveted title of the ‘POGO Amazing Kid’ across eight diverse categories including arts, music, singing, dance, genius, leadership and entertainment. These remarkable kids will be profiled on their favourite channel from November 19. The winners will be awarded a child benefit policy worth Rs.5 lakh each and take home loads of goodies.
