R. Rajaram
PERAMBALUR: Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) Chairman and Managing Director D. Rajendran on Thursday inspected the progress of the work relating to the establishment of SIDCO industrial estate at Elambalur near Perambalur. The industrial estate is coming up on an area of 50 acres.
Mr. Rajendran said 68 out of the 81 persons to whom land had been allocated in the industrial estate had paid 25 per cent margin money. The lands had been levelled, he said adding that technical sanction would be accorded shortly for creation of necessary infrastructure facilities such as roads, water supply and electricity in the estate.
Product marketing
Those who had been given lands would be advised to act as a group and start units for which raw materials were available in the area. They would also be advised about marketing of products.
He said Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had ordered starting of new industrial units in the newly-created Ariyalur district. District Revenue Officer P. Sankar, SIDCO branch manager Jeevanandham and revenue officials accompanied the CMD.
