NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has eased the norms relating to title of government, private and Gaon Sabha land with a view to provide basic services in all the unauthorised colonies, Delhi Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan announced on Wednesday. The Minister said with this order, issued on Wednesday, the colonies built on acquired land -- where notification under Section 4 and 6 of the Delhi Land Acquisition Act have been issued, award has been drawn, but the land owners have not taken the compensation with regard to that land -- would now be included in the private land category. CriteriaMr. Chauhan said agricultural land which has been vested with the Gaon Sabha under Section 81 of Delhi Land Reforms Act 1954 but the possession of which remains with the original owner would also be treated as private land. “With these decisions, the definition of the Government land and private land has been made amply clear and there is no confusion as on date in this regard. Now there shall be no problem in providing all the basic facilities in the unauthorised colonies,” he said. The Minister said now the Delhi Government would be able to provide all facilities in the 1,539 unauthorised colonies barring those which had come up on Government land.
